After earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in special education at Manhattan College, Michael spent five years as a special education teacher in Massachusetts. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research interests include alternative teacher education, equity practices of teacher education programs and special education teacher retention. Michael aspires to become a professor in a teacher education program where he can support the next generation of highly qualified classroom teachers and continue to research teacher education practices.
