Elisa Stone serves as the Program Director for Cal Teach and is responsible for designing, building, and managing UC Berkeley's effort to recruit, train, and support future science and math teachers who are undergraduates with majors in math, engineering, and the sciences. She is the Lead Investigator for research and evaluation of the CalTeach program, and has also served as a course instructor for CalTeach since 2008. She has an M.A. in Education and a Ph.D. in Genetics, as well as a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Biology. She has worked on a number of research projects in the fields of molecular and cellular biology and science education. In addition to research focused on teacher education, a primary research interest is in the learning outcomes of undergraduate research experiences.
