Hosun Kang is an assistant professor in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. Her work is centrally concerned with promoting powerful science learning at public schools located in historically underserved communities. Her research interests include girls and non-dominant ethnic background students’ science identity development, effective instructional practices that facilitate meaningful engagement in secondary science classrooms, and the design of learning environments that support early career science teacher learning.
