Full Title: Holistic Approaches to Teacher Education that Acknowledge issues of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice: Holistic characterized as, the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors
Dr. Lisa Giglio, CSU East Bay
The goals of this session focused on deepening interactive and collaborative best practices with two-fold intentions. First, to deepen our ability to establish our needs as field supervisors, and to connect with other field supervisors. Secondly, to serve teacher education candidates within our organizational structures. Activities were interactive and collaborative, we worked in small groups, as individuals, and as a whole group. Activities embed social emotional learning (SEL), trauma-informed practices (TIP), and culturally responsive and sustaining (CR-S) pedagogy, laughter, and reflection time. We reviewed frames and spaces for implementation.
