About STENT

stent 2021 summer conference

The Supervisors of Teacher Education Network Team is a collaborative group of teacher educators interested in understanding the pivotal work supervisors do in preparing future teachers. We have held two professional learning conferences focused on how to center equity and social justice in supervision practice. All teacher educators with an interest in supervision practices are welcome to join and contribute to the team’s work.

We aim to:

  • increase communication and collaboration across teacher education programs
  • examine current student teaching evaluation tools and processes and identify common challenges
  • develop a theory of practice to guide future improvement efforts across campuses
  • support the professional learning of teacher education supervisors

Our driving questions include:

1) What are we currently measuring in our student teacher evaluations and why?
2) Are there common purposes and processes that we might develop?
3) How might we center equity and social justice in supervision practice?
4) What additional information, resources and guidance to supervisors need to support their work?
